Keeping Harrow’s night life safe from trouble

If you are out enjoying a night out in the town centre over the weekend and want to get home safely, pop by our safe haven spot in Harrow Town Centre.

A joint partnership between Harrow Council, Harrow Business Improvement District and Harrow Police are piloting a Safe Haven scheme - a secure space in the centre of Harrow where, between 10pm and 3am on a Friday and Saturday. It’s where revellers can come to get help, advice, a bottle of water, hot drink, a taxi or even a pair of flip flops if the heels have become too much. Police Officers and medical professionals are also on hand to help anyone in need or worried. Teas and coffees have also been generously donated by McDonalds for those seeking help from the Safe Haven.

The first Safe Haven took place between 2 and 3 September. The first weekend saw just one trouble maker arrested for an assault. Police were able to make a swift arrest and London Ambulance provide medical aid to the victim.
The council and police will continue to trial the safe haven every Friday and Saturday until Saturday 16th September.
