Help us improve Headstone Manor Recreation Ground

Headstone Manor Recreation Ground Consultation

One of your much loved parks – Headstone Manor Recreation Ground – has just been successful in the first round of the Heritage Lottery Fund’s ‘A Park for All Communities’ fund.

That means we can now start to look at ways to make one your favourite parks a better and more attractive place to visit. As part of our plans to build a better Harrow, we are now looking to secure funding to make further improvements to the park to restore its quality, vitality and attractiveness.

Join us at our consultation event at Headstone Manor Recreation Ground –outside the Moat Café & Visitors Centre, on Wednesday 27 September 10am-7pm. It’s your chance to find out about the plans, share your ideas and ask any questions.  We’ll then put together detailed plans to complete the Round 2 application for £1.38 million of funding.

The restoration project includes plans to improve the park’s landscape, including: clearance of the medieval moat; recreation of historic ponds; improved access to the water for activities such as pond dipping; improved park entrances; an improved play area, and a nature trail.

The project will also include funding for a range of events and activities over a five year period and the development of a combined parkland and museum education pack.
