Bakkavor Pizza Harrow helps clear up the streets

Last week 34 bags of litter were collected at a recent clear up by local business Bakkavor Pizza.

More than 30 staff from Bakkavor donned their high vis jackets and were equipped to litter pick rubbish around the Leisure Centre and Harrow Weald.

Chintan Meha, from Bakkavor who coordinated the event, said:

“Cleaner streets are to everyone's benefit, it makes it a nicer place to live and work. This is the second litter picking initiative we’ve organised - it was great to have support from Harrow Council this time. The feedback from neighbours has been fantastic and we’re looking forward to invite them next time.

“We employ many local residents and we want to do our bit within the community. It is important that we look after Harrow, our business and local area. We encourage other businesses to do the same and help us to make a positive change in Harrow.”

Cllr Niraj Dattani who joined Bakkavor with the clear up said:

“Everyone has a responsibility to help make Harrow clean and it’s great to see a local business work with us to keep the borough tidy. The turnout was fantastic and I’d like to thank everyone at Bakkavor for taking time out of their day to help make a difference to the local community. I hope it inspires other local business to do the same.”
