Starting today - Civil Enforcement Officers will start wearing body cameras from August 1.

The cameras, fitted to their uniforms, will be switched on if an officer is concerned about confrontation or danger when they are issuing penalty charge notices for illegal parking.

Cllr Graham Henson, cabinet member for environment said:

“Our enforcement teams play an important role in keeping Harrow clean, safe and green. Sometimes they can encounter difficult or confrontational situations and these new measures will help both the public and officers as well as gather evidence for potential prosecutions.”

The cameras are intended to act as a deterrent to acts of aggression or verbal and physical abuse towards officers.
