Harrow Women’s Centre, a local charity who have been helping women since 1992 celebrated their 25th anniversary last week (Friday 30 June) with the support of the Mayor of Harrow, Cllr Margaret Davine.

To mark the special milestone, Harrow Women’s Centre have launched a photography competition, “A women’s place is…everywhere” which captures the lives of women in 2017. If you live or work in Harrow, enter the competition for a chance to win a Drone with WiFi, and built in camera with 720 pixels.

As one of the Mayor’s chosen charities for this year, Cllr Margaret Davine had the honour of hosting the celebration party and cutting a special cake to commemorate the milestone, she said:

“Harrow Women’s Centre is a charity very dear to my heart. The volunteers do a wonderful job and I have seen them first hand empowering women to be independent, confident and strong through the most difficult times. They make a huge difference to women’s lives and I’m incredibly proud of what the team have achieved together over the last 25 years. ”

Harrow Women’s Centre, founded in 1992 is a charity which provides support with the many social issues of our time such as isolation, loneliness and mental health. In the last year the centre has supported around 2,500 women through counselling, free legal advice, support groups and training.
