Harrow Safer Neighbourhood Team

The Harrow Safer Neighbourhood scheme is a localised form of policing where local police work with local people to identify and tackle concerning issues in their neighbourhood.

The Safer Neighbourhood Teams usually consist of one sergeant, two constables, and three police community support officers (PCSO's).

They are trained to communicate with a wide range of people, ethnicities, communities and partners, to solve and eliminate problems within the twenty-one wards. Past experiences suggest the most problematic issues involve anti-social behaviour, criminal damage, abandoned cars and graffiti.

The teams are a permanent fixture brought in to respond to local changes in the area mainly involving crime and disorder. What makes this neighbourhood scheme different is the officers work in tandem with the local people as well as London 's other policing teams and specialist units to ensure the best outcome possible.
