Local Development Framework / Policy
Work is underway to introduce new planning documents for Harrow under the Local Development Framework (LDF), which sets out how future planning will be carried out in the borough.
Under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 structure plans, local plans and supplementary planning guidance have been replaced by a series of local planning documents which forms the Local Development Framework (LDF). This is intended to be a more efficient system, helping to shape communities and achieve sustainable objectives.
July 2011 Update- Public Consultation on 3 new DPDs has now finished.
As part of the LDF process, three new Development Plan Documents (DPDs) are being produced to help guide development in Harrow. These are at an early stage of preparation, known as the Regulation 25 stage. This is where the documents are published for public comment on the content and direction of the policies. The three new DPDs are:
- Harrow and Wealdstone Area Action Plan
- Draft Development Management Policies DPD
- Draft Site Allocations DPD
Please follow the links above for more details on each DPD.
The consultation has now finished on these documents, and comments received are being considered in advance of the documents being finalised for another round of consultation early in 2012. The Council's response to comments received will be made available on each of the DPDs pages above. In addition, the Area Action Plan for Harrow and Wealdstone will be put out for an additional round of consultation in January 2012 (further updates will follow).
