Core Strategy Development
Work started on preparation of the Core Strategy in 2006 and the Council consulted on 2 preliminary Core Strategy documents; Issues and Options (from 4 September to 13 October 2006) and the Strategic Options for the Future Development of Harrow (from 12 January to 24 February 2007).
Following the consultation period for both preliminary issues and options consultation documents, the summary of consultation responses was reported to the Local Development Framework Panel (a member group) on the 24 April 2007.
The Council consulted on the Core Strategy Draft Preferred Options and associated sustainability appraisal from 6 June to 25 July 2008 on the Harrow consultation portal. This document narrowed the initial future growth options from four down to two and promoted a more comprehensive vision, cross-cutting objectives, spatial strategy options and draft core policies than in earlier consultations. Following reporting to the Local Development Framework Panel (on the 29 October 2008) the summary of consultation responses is now available.
Subsequently the Core Strategy Preferred Option was developed, which set out the Council's preferred approach to managing growth and development in the Borough. This document went out for public consultation from 12 November 2009 to 11 January 2010.
The Core Strategy, taking into account previous representations, was then revised a final time and was consulted on from April 2011 - 16 May 2011. It was this version which was submitted on 24 June 2011 to the Seceratary of State for Examination.

Pre - Submission 2011
The Core Strategy Pre Submission consultation closed on the 16 May, and on the 24 June, following consideration of all the responses received, it was submitted to the Seceratary of State for Examination.
