Harrow's Town Centres

This is the main shopping area in the borough and is classified as a Metropolitan Centre.There are a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants here with two large indoor shopping centre's - St Anns and St Georges, the latter containing a nine - screen cinema complex.

The Council is working with partners towards

• Creating and maintaining an attractive environment
• Encouraging investment to the retail sector
• Making Harrow a place where people wish to shop
• Better access in and around the town centres
• Improving the safety and security of town centres
• Promoting environmental improvement, facilitating events and publicising information and services

The emerging planning document, the Local Development Framework (LDF), aims to support Harrow Town Centre by including it within the proposed Harrow and Wealdstone Intensification Area. The aim of this designation is to focus commercial investment in retail, office, higher education and leisure sector growth and development within the Harrow town centre area.
