Our Publication Scheme is a guide to information routinely published by the council. It is a description of the classes or types of information that Harrow Council publishes or makes available.

We categorise information on Council websites so that you will find similar information in the same place on any website that uses the system.

We have arranged our Publication Scheme as the governments standard Local Goverment Navigation List (LGNL)

The advantage of this is that the categories don't follow the council's organisational structure, but a national standard. This means they will remain the same regardless of any changes in an organisation.

We have also identified classes of information which we have arranged into a series of subgroups to the main 13 above.

Information not included in the classes of information

We want to make as much information as possible available. However there is some information that cannot be made available, for example, information relating to individuals and information subject to certain legal exemptions. A full list of exemptions is available at the Information Commissioner's website.

If we have to withhold some information from within a document, we will normally mark that document to show that information has been withheld and say why it has been withheld.

Information available but not originating from Harrow Council

We sometimes provide information that we did not produce. Where we include this information in our scheme, we make sure this has been indicated. We try to make sure information we did not produce is up-to-date and accurate.
