Apply for a bin

Applying for a new or replacement bin

The easiest way to apply for a replacement or additional bin is using the online application form on the right.

Households have three types of bins for rubbish and recycling waste:

  • The BLUE BIN is for dry recyclable waste. It is collected fortnightly.
  • The BROWN BIN is for garden and kitchen waste. It is collected weekly.
  • The GREEN/GREY BIN is for all other waste. It is collected on alternate weeks to your Blue Bin.

A 'household' in Harrow is defined as an individual house, a semi-detached or detached house. Households can have more than one Brown Bin and/or Blue Bin.

However there is a limit of one Green/Grey Waste Bin per household, unless there are more than 5 people living in your home, in which case you are entitled to purchase one additional bin.

Additional bins are chargeable- see below for prices.

  • New Bins cost £40.80 each
  • Replacement bins cost 15.30 each (if lost or stolen)
  • Exchange a bin for larger/smaller is £15.30 each

If your wheeled bin is damaged by the collection vehicle, we will provide you with a new one free of charge. Please call us - contact details on the right.
