Buying Compost Made From My Brown Bin

When your Brown bin containing your food and garden waste is collected it is sent to West London Composting, to be turned into compost.

On arrival the materials are shredded before undergoing a decontamination process to remove any materials that will not compost (such as glass and plastic). Once this is completed the material is required to be heated to 60 degrees centigrade over two consecutive days. This stage of the process usually takes between 10 to 14 days. Then the process is repeated.

The material is then transfered to the maturation site where it is turned regularly for up to 8 weeks.

If you would like to purchase compost from West London Composting collection can be arranged from:

West London Composting Ltd, Newyears Green Lane, Harefield, Middlesex, UB9 6LX

Compost is sold pre bagged at £3 per 20kg/40lt (prices correct August 2011).

Please contact West London Composting prior to collection so your order can be processed. West London Composting does not keep bagged compost in stock so it must be ordered prior to collection. Orders can be made by calling 01895 634 912.

If customers would like to purchase larger orders or purchase compost by the tonne this can also be arranged. Please contact West London Composting for prices per tonne and order details.
