School reorganisation to change the ages of transfer
Consultation
The statutory consultation on school reorganisation in Harrow was held from Monday 8 September until Friday 5 December 2008.
Over 33,000 consultation booklets and posters were distributed widely around the borough - the booklet contained a consultation response form. Families of all children attending Harrow schools received the booklet from their children's schools, and the council sent information to a wide range of community organisations. Meetings for parents, staff and governors were held at schools, and two public meetings were arranged at Harrow Civic Centre.
The responses to the consultation from individuals and organisations have been collected and analysed for Cabinet to consider. Analysis of the consultation is contained in the report to 15 January 2009 Cabinet.
The consultation booklet 'Proposals for Harrow Schools' describes the overall proposals in a Question and Answer format, and lists the proposals for each individual school in Harrow.
Please note On page 18 of the printed edition of the booklet distributed on 8 September the second point about Shaftesbury High School should read: Shaftesbury High School is a special school for students aged 11-19 with learning and behavioural difficulties and autism.
