Harrow Council Car Parks

Car parks - terms and conditions for business space applications

Permits may only be issued and used in conjunction with a business located in the vicinity of the car park for which it is issued used in accordance with the conditions of the above Order - a copy of which may be purchased from the Transportation department.

An application form MUST be completed before a permit will be issued. Please ensure that you provide all the information requested overleaf - Incomplete or illegible applications will not be processed. These permits are valid for 12 Months and a renewal application will be issued but please be aware, we take no responsibility for postal delays or misdirected mail and it is the holders' responsibility to both renew and display a valid permit at ALL times when parked.

Summary of Conditions:

  1. The permit must be displayed in the vehicle specific thereon.
  2. To verify that an application of permit is valid the applicant or permit holder may be required to produce to an officer of the Council such evidence as may be reasonably required.
  3. The permit will be withdrawn by the Council if:
  • The application/permit holder ceases to have a business or to work in the area.
  • The vehicle is not taxed.
  • The applicant/permit holder ceases to be the owner of the vehicle.
  • The vehicle has been adapted to a class not permitted.
  • The permit has been reported lost or stolen
  • A duplicate permit has been issued
  • The permit was issued upon receipt of a cheque, which has subsequently been dishonoured.
  • Refunds in respect of unexpired portions of surrendered permits are made on each complete remaining 3 months.
Note: For Peel House

Peel House Car Park is closed between the hours of 20.30 and 07.30, Monday to Saturday, and all day Sunday and Bank Holidays. A charge of £50 will be made for the release of any vehicle during this period.

Note: For Waxwell Lane

In the instance of all marked permit bays being occupied, a permit holder may park in one of the general unmarked Pay & Display bays, providing they are clearly displaying their permit for visual checks by our attendants. Failure to display correctly in this instance may result in a Penalty Charge Notice being issued.

Note: For Gayton Road

An access card will be provided to operate the barriers. Access to the car park for permit holders is via the right- hand entry barrier only. This has been fitted with a card reader.

Although there is a free exit from the car park, permit holders must exit with their vehicle via the right hand exit barrier, and at the same time they must pass the card across the reader to re-validate it (the green light will be lit as the card is re-validated).

IMPORTANT: The card will not allow further access unless it is passed across the card reader on exit.

Permit Holders are required to park in accordingly marked or allocated bays. Specific named spaces will not be reserved for General Permit Holders.

Note : Should the vehicle be changed or the permit lost/stolen it should be reported immediately to Parking Services (contact details top right of page) and a replacement permit can be supplied at a charge of £10.
