Complaining about the council

How to complain about councillors

The procedure on how you can make a complaint against a member of the council has changed and you can now complain directly to the Standards Committee of Harrow Council. Previously the Standards Board for England dealt with all complaints.

All members have to comply with the Code of Conduct. The code sets out rules about how they should behave and also requires them to disclose any personal interests they have. The code is contained in Part 5 of the council's constitution.

Anyone can make a complaint about a breach of the Code of Conduct. This complaint must be in writing. If you want to make a complaint about a member, please read the guidance before you fill out the online complaint form.

If your complaint is not about a member, then please use the council's corporate complaints procedure.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.
