Rights and responsibilities
Most of the leasehold flats we manage are on mixed tenure estates, so your neighbours may be tenants, sub-tenants, leaseholders or lease/free holders in houses.
Generally, tenants and leaseholders have similar rights and responsibilities over the shared parts of blocks and estates. This includes keeping the shared areas clean and not storing items in them, not causing damage and reporting repairs. However, leaseholders are also responsible for maintaining the inside of their home and contributing towards the upkeep costs of the external areas of the estate. You must pay ground rent to us as we own the land the building stands on. The charge is currently £10 per year and we will invoice you annually.
If you wish to let your home you must comply with the terms of the lease and the conditions of the building insurance contract.
