Children's Centre Consultation Feedback
The Children's Centre Consultation: An update
As you may be aware we recently asked parents, guardians and carers what they want from Harrow Children & Centres. We run 13 centres across Harrow and the way they are funded needs to change. The money from the government used to be ring-fenced but now Local Authorities have to allocate funding from a smaller pot.
Children's Centres play a big role in improving the lives of all Harrow children and families. A children's centre is a place in your community where families with young children can get information, services and help.
As a council, we highly value our children's centres and appreciate the benefits they provide for children, parents and carers. As such we have made a commitment to do everything we can to keep them open despite having to make £1 million of savings over the next year. Your views have helped us to understand which services are most important to you, how much you value your centre and whether you would be interested in getting involved in the running of your centre.
We thank those of you that participated by completing the survey and taking part in the focus groups. Many of you got involved and told us what you think about our Children's Centres, we have listened to your views and we will be using them to help us to run the Children's Centre service. We will come back to you in December with our plans for the future.
