The development of of Harrow Children's Centres is strategically co-ordinated by Harrow Integrated Early Years and Community Services. Children's Centres are at the heart of building and sustaining partnerships between agencies to deliver better outcomes for children's centres.
Children's Centres play a central role in:
- Reaching the most disadvantaged
- Reaching identified target groups
- Improve multi agency working
- Raising the quality of early years provision
- Improving accessibility and visability for the local community to services
- Enhancing preventive and intervention approaches
- Improving the health and education of young children and their families.
All Harrow children's centres include:
- Integrated childcare
- Early learning opportunites
- Childminder support
- Information about care, education, training and benefits
- Specialist support for parents and children
- Universal health services
There are currently 13 children's centres located all around Harrow with three more to be launched in 2011. By the end of 2011, there will be a total of 16 children's centres opened in different locations in Harrow.
