What exactly are low pollution vehicles?
Low pollution vehicles include hybrid and electric cars, both of which give off considerably less pollution than standard petrol cars. Through using renewable sources of energy, cleaner fuelled vehicles offer significant environmental benefits and lower running costs.
Low pollution vehicles on the PowerShift register are also exempt from road tax, the congestion charge and have lower insurance costs. In Harrow, many owners of low pollution do not require parking permits for parking in controlled parking zones.
The Energy Savings Trust provide lots of useful information about low polluting vehicles as well as a map of locations across the country where low polluting vehicles can refuel.
