Invitation to tender
When you have been selected to tender for a project, the tender documentation will be sent to you in a hard-copy or electronic format. The tender documents usually contain the following information:
- letter of invitation and instructions to tenderers
- pricing document and/or form of tender
- specification and/or schedule of rates
- contract conditions or conditions of purchase
- method statement requirements (if necessary)
We will also normally ask further questions tailored to match the needs of the individual contract, and your responses and supporting evidence will be used to assess whether you have the required level of skills and abilities to tender in relation to other interested firms.
You will be asked to complete and return our tender documents by a given time and date in the tender return envelope. The tender documents are all opened at the same time after the tender return date. Once the tender documents have been opened they are forwarded to the appropriate Council Officer for evaluation. If you fail to return your tender documents by the specified deadline your tender may be excluded from the evaluation process.
