Council tender advertising

Where the council advertises for contracts depends upon the type, value and legal requirements for awarding such contracts.

Where a contract is tendered by public notice and the contract value of the goods and services is in excess of £156,442 (£3,927,260 for construction/works), the contract must be advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU).

Additionally the Council's Contract Procedure Rules state that an advertisement must be placed for all requirements via the Bravo e-tendering Portal (See 'Current procurement opportunities at Harrow Council') and where necessary, in the local press or relevant trade journal for all requirements over £50,000.

The council will also advertise contracts under "current contract opportunities" on the E-tendering Portal Bravo.

 Searching for OJEU Notices

Tenders Electronic Daily is the online version of the 'Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union', dedicated to European public procurement. It provides free access to business opportunities. Prior Information Notices, Contract Notices and Award notices placed by Harrow Council can be found easily on the website by searching the database.

To search Tenders Electronic Daily and view all opportunities for the council:

• Tenders Electronic Daily is a European website therefore select the English version (EN) from the number of different language headings on the front page
• When presented with the Tenders Electronic Daily website for the first time you may be asked either to register for the first time or click to continue. Click to continue
• On the left hand column you have a number of headings with a star symbol next to them. Click on 'extended search' in the far left hand column (it is under a star heading called 'search')
• Ensure 'OJS number' is blank and the search 'includes archive' if you want to see previous opportunities 
• Under 'Authority Name' type 'Harrow Council'
• Click on 'GO'

Wider search criteria, e.g. Place: 'Harrow', will provide more information about opportunities published by other public sector organisations based in Harrow.
