The Balfour Beatty London Youth Games 2012
The Balfour Beatty London Youth Games are a unique season of events at the heart of youth sport in the capital involving all 33 London Boroughs and 26 Sporting National Governing Bodies. The Games are free of charge and open to all young people, aged between 7 and 18, living in or going to school in London.
The Games offers competitive opportunities for participants of varying abilities and experience and has been a stepping stone in the careers of international, Olympic and Paralympic athletes. Harrow Council is currently looking for enthusiastic young people - both able-bodied and disabled - to represent the Borough in the 2012 London Youth Games.
The 2012 London Youth Games will feature 80 competitions - 20 more than before - to enable more young people to complete. In 2011, 71,000 youngsters participated in the Games and this number is now expected to increase.
Thirty sports will be competing in across 25 days with participants from the 33 London Boroughs until the season's climax at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on 30 June and 1 July 2012.
