In year admissions
Applying for In-Year Admissions
From September 2010 Harrow council will co-ordinate all in year applications. This means that if you live in Harrow you should complete a Harrow Common Application Form (CAF). You must make sure you have read the Guide to Primary/Secondary Schools 2011/2012 Booklet before you complete the application form.
If you live outside Harrow you must get an application form from the council to whom you pay your Council Tax, EVEN if you want to apply for a Harrow school.
Use this form to apply for a Harrow community school, a Harrow Church of England, Hindu, Jewish or Roman Catholic School and/or any state school in another borough or county.
You can list up to 4 state maintained schools in order of preference naming each school only once. Independent and private schools should not be included as they are not part of the co-ordinated scheme. If you are applying for a Harrow voluntary aided school or a school outside the borough of Harrow your application details will be forwarded to the relevant school or local authority. This may mean it will take longer to process your application. Once we have the outcome of all your applications these will be co-ordinated to ensure that only one offer is made. This will be the single best offer that can be made.
If a place is available in the school to which you wish your child to go, you will be sent a letter offering you a place and asking you to contact the school to take the place up within 14 days. If a place is not available you will be offered a place in another school.
