Harrow Council

Public Transport Information

Public Transport information

The Council strongly supports the government in its challenge to improve public transport services and get more people to leave their car at home. As such, the Transport Planning team at Harrow regularly liaise with Transport for London together with public transport operators and other stakeholders to identify ways of improving public transport in Harrow and promoting its use.

Bus

Most of the bus services that serve Harrow are managed by London Buses and operated by private bus companies. Any bus service related queries should be sent in the first instance to the London Buses Customer Services.

Underground

The Underground is operated by Transport for London. Infrastructure companies under the governments Public-Private Partnership are currently rolling out station improvements throughout the borough over the next few years.

Bus shelters

Bus shelters in Harrow are mainly provided by Adshel for London Buses, in consultation with the Council's Transportation section. It is policy to provide shelters wherever they are required, unless there are site problems such as limited space, underground service ducts or other safety hazards. If you wish to request a bus shelter, please contact London Buses or the Council using the contact details given above.

How to report damage to a bus shelter

Please call the Adshel hotline number (24 hours, 7 days per week) for reporting damage.  You will need to give the location of the shelter (including the street and number of nearest property if possible). It will also greatly help in speeding up the repair if the shelter number is quoted. This normally appears on the front panel near the end of the shelter, just beneath the roof. Every attempt is made to repair damage as quickly as possible, though this depends on the extent of the damage.

Rail

If you have a comment or complaint about rail services, either on a train or at a station: Write to the Managing Director of the Train Operating Company or station operator as applicable. If you are not satisfied with the response, write to the Secretary of your local Rail Passengers Committee or, in the case of the London area, to the Director of the London Transport Users Committee www.ltuc.org.uk/.

Council contacts on public transport related issues If you have any queries or comments on public transport in Harrow, please contact the relevant authority in the first instance or alternatively, contact the Transportation section.
