Parking Permits
Do I need a Parking Permit?
In controlled parking zones, parking permits are required for parking on the road.
Parking permits are not required for vehicles correctly displaying blue badges. Drivers of vehicles using environmentally friendly fuels do not need to pay for a parking permit but they do need to have one.
In addition, motorcycles do not need permits to park in either pay and display bays or in resident bays.
Parking permits are only valid if a valid vehicle excise duty certificate is displayed.
Owners of vehicles in receipt of 3 or more unpaid parking tickets where the parking ticket is not subject to a challenge will not be issued with controlled parking zone permits. This is the case for both resident and business permit applications.
Parking permits do not allow vehicles to park on single or double yellow lines during the hours that restictions apply.
The page about Controlled parking zones provides more information on each zone. Some dwellings in the borough are parking permit restricted. Information on parking restricted dwellings is provided in the controlled parking zones table and a you can also view a full list of permit-restricted addresses.
