Harrow Museum Schools Service

A brand new service for schools was launched at Harrow Museum in September 2008. Harrow Museum offers a range of fascinating and fun sessions for school pupils studying History at Key Stage 1 & 2.  All the sessions tie in closely with the National Curriculum and QCAs. Each session offered focuses on the history of the Harrow area, ensuring that pupils learn about the heritage of where they live.

All sessions are led by Harrow Museum's Learning and Access Officer. Depending on the session, pupils have the opportunity to handle artefacts from the museum collection, dress in replica clothes, have a tour of the historic Harrow Museum buildings, 'excavate' ancient objects and much more! Each session also includes a historically inspired craft activity - ranging from creating Tudor lavender bags to clay Roman tablets - so every pupil leaves with a souvenir from their visit.
