Where schools advertise vacancies
Each school decides where to advertise. If you're looking for jobs in local schools check the following resources:
New websites are developing for online recruitment to schools, including Schools Recruitment Service. You can register free now for vacancies, but schools cannot advertise on it before late September 2009.
Most schools will advertise during term time, so you won't find many job adverts during the school breaks. Many jobs start when school terms begin, especially September, so adverts will go out some weeks before then.
Schools sometimes use agency staff (also called temps or supply staff).
- Search the council vacancies database
- Local media eg Harrow Times, Harrow Observer / other press
- School and parish newsletters
- Job Centre
- Schools advertise their own vacancies (see the schools list)
