An alternative to the Graduate Teacher Propramme for people with UK honours degrees or the equivalent is the Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE).

PGCE courses are available at universities and colleges throughout the UK.  They focus on developing your teaching skills rather than the subject you intend to teach. PGCEs can be full or part time.

Demand for PGCE has risen considerably recently so apply early through the Graduate Teacher Training Registry and take time filling in your application.
