Jobs at Harrow's Schools
Where are school jobs advertised?
Each school decides where to advertise. If you're looking for jobs in local schools check the following:
- Search the council vacancies
database
- Local media eg Harrow Times, Harrow Observer / other press
- School and parish newsletters
- Job Centre
- Schools advertise their own vacancies (see the schools list)
UK Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT)
NQTs are teachers who've completed their initial UK qualified teacher training, but not yet satisfactorily completed statutory induction, including skills tests. Vacancies for NQTs can be found in the press and on the primary pool. For secondary vacancies please contact schools direct and consider registering on www.schoolsrecruitment.dcsf.gov.uk
Our online 20010/11 Primary NQT recruitment opened in November 2009. Our Primary NQT Pool interviews are held early March 2010. If you apply after that you are still welcome to apply and join our extended list so schools will be able to look at your application online. We will update information for the 2011/12 recruitment in November 2010.
New websites are developing for online recruitment to schools, including Schools Recruitment Service you can register free now for vacancies, and schools can advertise on it from October 2009.
