Southern Cross care homes

You will have seen the widespread coverage in the media about Southern Cross's financial situation.  There are two homes run by Southern Cross in the borough, these are: Buchanan Court and Knights Court. The Council also funds a number of people in Birchwood Grange a Southern Cross home in Brent.

The Council is in regular contact with the management of Southern Cross to ensure that we are kept fully informed of the situation and the company's plans for the future.  Southern Cross assure us that they are putting the continuity of care of their residents as their first priority and the Council is doing all it can to encourage this to be the case.

We are working with the Department of Health, the Care Quality Commission, who regulate care homes, NHS London and with the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services who are meeting regularly with Southern Cross directors.

Southern Cross say that they will be communicating regularly with us, and residents and their families over the coming weeks as plans are made for the future.
