Harrow Shared Lives Scheme - information for service users
What is Harrow Shared Lives Scheme?
- We provide a supportive family environment
- We support ordinary people in the community to provide personal and professional care to individuals from a range of backgrounds and needs.
Short term
Short term care is designed to let people who need support, and their permanent carers, to take a break from each other from time to time. This might be on a regular basis for a few days a month, or a longer period once or twice a year.
Short term care is good for everyone who uses it. It's not just about giving carers a rest, it also allows the service user to have a positive experience and the chance to meet different people and do new things.
Long term
Long term care is designed for people who need some help in living their life, who may like to live with others in a family like setting.
If you are part of the shared lives scheme you will be treated as a family member.
