In Harrow we are working to ensure that everyone who is eligible can have a Personal Budget - this is an amount of money to spend on the social care support that people need to live their lives.

People will be able to take this as a Direct payment and arrange their support themselves or choose to leave the money with the council who will arrange the support for them.

Everyone who has a personal budget will need to have a financial assessment - this is to make sure that people are claiming all the benefits they are entitled to as well as calculate the amount of money an individual needs to contribute towards the cost of their support.

We are also working with local care providers and voluntary sector groups to ensure that there are the flexible support options and activities in the community that people want and can access.
