Actions to Develop and Consult on the Post-16 Transport Policy Statement 2011-12

The development of the Post-16 Transport Policy Statement will be incorporated into the Commissioning and Planning Cycle for 2011-12.  This will ensure that decisions on curriculum development will take into consideration the transport requirements to ensure that learners are able to access provision accordingly.

From 2011-12 the local authority is required to consult more widely on the transport policy, including with young people and their parents.  The post-16 commissioner will present the draft statement to the Harrow 14-19 Strategic Group for consultation.  Schools and colleges will complete the consultation with the learners and their parents on the transport policy using their established consultation and engagement mechanisms, for example school councils, parent forums.
