Equality Impact Assessments
Although the new Equality Act 2010 does not impose a specific requirement to undertake Equality Impact Assessments (EqIAs), Harrow Council see EqIAs as a method of ensuring our policies and services are fair and equitable and accessible to all our communities. By embedding this practice across the organisation, EqIA's will not only highlight any gaps in service provision but assist the Council to improve its services and with it the experience of our service users.
Our programme of Equality Impact Assessments
In order to mainstream EqIAs, Directorates have developed annual EqIA programmes aligned to their Service Plans.
The directorate programmes will be monitored through the Departmental Equalities Task Groups and the Corporate Equalities Group and all completed EqIAs will be published on the website.
