Every year Harrow Electoral Services has to publish a revised Register of Electors. In order to do this, the office carries out an annual check of all residential properties within the borough.
Household Enquiry Forms
During August, a Household Enquiry Form, listing everyone registered at that address will be delivered to all residential properties in the borough. The revised Register of Electors will be published by 1 December 2015, and will be used in any elections that may be held after that date.
YOU MUST RESPOND
You must respond without delay, even if the pre-printed details are correct on the form.
Please reply promptly
Do not delay. Respond as soon as possible by the secure internet service, telephone or text. Alternatively you can complete and return the form to us in the pre-paid envelope provided.
If no response is received, reminders will be sent out in September and October and non-responding properties will also receive a personal visit.
You must respond by no later than 20 November if you are to be included on the Register of Electors which will be published by 1 December 2015.
If you do not respond, you may not appear on the Register of Electors and may lose your right to vote. You may also have difficulties in obtaining credit which includes mortgages and mobile phone contracts.
If you do not register during the annual canvass, you can still apply to register each month. Registering to vote takes about 5 minutes – simply complete the form at: www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
