Tell us you're moving home

Before you start

You must tell us if you move in or out of a Harrow property. Before starting the form, please note:

  • If you are already a Harrow Council Tax payer you will need to have your Council Tax reference number.
  • If you want to pay by Direct Debit you will need to have your bank details.
  • If you've purchased a second property and still live in Harrow, complete the move form by selecting 'Moving into Harrow'. This won't affect your current property.
  • Before you can access the form, you will be asked to sign in to your MyHarrow Account. If you do not have an account, please select 'Complete a form without logging in'.

Report a move for council tax

What happens next?

In most cases you will get a bill confirming the change of address. If you have a MyHarrow account you will be able to check the bill online.

If you don’t get a bill within five days your request may need to be looked at by a member of our team.

This can happen if:

  • the date of the change is too long ago
  • the date of the change is more than 14 days in the future
  • the information given on the form doesn't match our records

You may be contacted for further information.

If you are waiting for a closing bill, you must continue to pay until you receive it. If this results in you paying too much you can claim a refund.

What to do if your plans change

If your plans change after you have reported a move, you can report it using the Evidence Form.

New build properties

New properties may not be on our database yet. You can check whether a property has been listed for council tax with the Valuation Office.

Responding to a council request for information

If you have already reported a move, and have been asked to provide more information, please respond using the Evidence Form.
