Neighbourhood champions
What does a neighbourhood champion do?
Neighbourhood champions report issues on their street to our neighbourhood champions team so that issues can be resolved. They can report to us via our website, by email or by phone.
Things we want to know about include:
- General anti-social behaviour
- Graffiti
- Abandoned vehicles
- Fly-tipping
- Fly-posters
- Potholes
- Defective street lights
- Abandoned vehicles
- Noise nuisance
- Pavement or road obstructions
- Petty vandalism
Because a neighbourhood champion only covers the road in which they live, issues that need reporting are likely to be very minimal. There are no formal obligations to the role and volunteers can do as little or as much as they like. So even if you are working or out of the house during the day, it's still a role you can do.
All new neighbourhood champions are given an induction on the scope of the role and will receive a free Welcome Resource Pack including a guidebook, folder and handy notebook and pen.
We'll keep you informed about the scheme through a quarterly newsletter and there will be opportunities to meet with local councillors and Police representatives throughout the year so you can share you views.
