Harrow Childcare Sufficiency Assessment

Introduction to the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment

The Childcare Sufficiency Assessment

The childcare Act 2006 places new duties on Local Authorities to "manage the childcare market and ensure sufficiency of childcare". As a result of this Harrow has conducted an audit of registered childcare provision accross the borough to develop a more detailed understanding the the local market. A summary of the Key findings and recommendations are available here

The full report can be downloaded here with appendices or viewed at your local library, children's centre or at the Families Information Service.

Our Service's Action Plan

A news sheet to report the views of children and young people aged between 5 and 10 years in Harrow has been produced.

Two schools were visited in October 2007 to ask children and young people what they thought about the different types of childcare in the borough, and what they wanted to use in the future.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to take part and for telling us what you think. We hope that you find the results interesting. Please let us know!
