How the council can help carers

We offer many different services and types of support for people looking after a family member or friend. We can provide:

• A carers assessment to find out how to get the support you need.

• Advice and information about local resources and organisations  including contact details or ask for a printed copy of the carers information pack from Harrow Council's Carer Lead.

• Short breaks for you and/or the person you look after to give you a rest.
• Care at home for the person you look after to give you a break
• A 'direct payment' for you to arrange and manage your own services and support instead of receiving a direct service from us.
