How to pay your Business Rates
Payment Frequencies
Legally you have the right to pay over 10 monthly instalments at the beginning of each financial year. This will be from April to January. The instalment date is the 1st of the month.
If you move in during the year or the amounts you need to pay changes during the year, the number of instalments you are given will be less than 10. You will be sent a bill telling you of the new amounts and dates to make payment.
You can also opt to pay either:-
- yearly, on 1st April or
- ½ yearly, on 1st April and 1st October or
- ¼ quarterly, on 1st April, 1st July, 1st October and 1st January
This request must be made at the beginning of the financial year.
