Charity relief and Non Profit Organisations
Mandatory
Billing authorities are obliged by law to give 80% relief to properties wholly occupied by charities or trustees of a charity and registered community amateur sports clubs. Authorities have the power to make this up to 100%. Where a property is used for non-profit making purposes, the authority can grant 100% discretionary rate relief.
Discretionary
A new policy has been agreed by members with effect from 1st April 2012. An application form and policy are available to download.
