Birth - registering

How to register your baby

If you need to register a birth, you will need to make an appointment. Babies born in Harrow need to be registered at the Harrow register office. However, if you gave birth at Northwick Park Hospital, your baby's birth will eventually be recorded in the registers at Brent Register office.

In order to received your baby's birth certificate on the same day you need to attend Brent Register Office. An appointment will be required.

If your baby was born in any hospital, including Northwick Park, then you may use our services to make a declaration. In this case we will take all your details and pass it on to the appropriate borough, they will then register your baby's birth and send the documents to your private address. This will normally take 7-10 working days. You will need to bring your cheque book to pay £4.00 for a full birth certificate.
