Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP)
About Discretionary Housing Payments
Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP) is not part of the normal housing benefit or council tax benefit schemes. As the name suggests, we make payments at our discretion.
There are no rules that give anyone a right to a payment, but we may be able to pay you DHP if we believe you need extra financial support. There is a legal limit on the amount each council can pay each year for people in their area.
If you are having problems paying your rent, worried about losing your home, or have other housing problems, you can contact Housing Advice on 020 8424 1093, or drop in between 9am and 1pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday at Civic 2, Civic Centre, Station Road , Harrow .
