Future Whitmore
Background to the project
Whitmore High School has been rebuilt to provide 'state of the art' facilities for students in a more compact and stunning school, and students moved in to the new school in September 2010.
The exciting Future Whitmore Project has created a new, landmark building for the 21st century.
Early in 2007 the council and Whitmore High School bid successfully for £31.5m to rebuild the school. This was a One-School Pathfinder project under the Building Schools for the Future programme.
Harrow Council and Whitmore High School wanted this project to benefit the whole community, as well as students, staff and parents. Harrow Council committed funding to provide enhanced facilities for community use.
During the design phase, we consulted a wide range of stakeholders, and the comments we received helped to shape the design. Communicaton with stakeholders continued throughout the project. See the further pages below for more details.
