Harrow Council

Locata - Housing Association Nomination

Allocation of housing association properties

There are more than 20 housing associations working in Harrow.   Some housing associations have specialist roles such as catering for people with special supported needs or those from particular ethnic backgrounds.

We work closely with housing association staff to ensure that developments reflect local needs.

The first step in getting a housing association home is to apply to the lettings and transfer scheme called Locata

The Council has nomination agreements with all housing associations in Harrow.   This means that they will normally offer 50% of one bed properties and 75% of properties with 2 or more bedrooms to people applying for accommodation through Locata.

Some housing associations also accept direct applications from the public.   As the associations usually keep waiting lists it is advisable to check to see if the list is very long or even closed.
