Shaftesbury Avenue to Sudbury Hill Local Safety Scheme - January update

Consultation on parking restrictions and a new zebra crossing

Following initial consultation before Christmas on proposals in Shaftesbury Avenue and Porlock Avenue we are now consulting people about parking restriction proposals throughout the Shaftesbury Avenue to Sudbury Hill route.

The proposed restrictions around Shaftesbury Circle have been modified following the feedback from residents. The waiting restriction proposals in Porlock Avenue on the junctions and at crossing points will be taken forward within the area-wide parking review. Consultation on this will start on 16 February 2012.

The restriction proposals will be advertised in the Harrow Times on 26 January 2012 and on street notices where new or changed parking restrictions are proposed. The detail of the proposed restriction changes is shown on the plans which together with the consultation letters are below.

The statutory consultation period runs from 26 January to 15 February 2012 and allows anyone to comment on the proposals or raise formal objections if they wish. We are legally required to consider all representations and particularly objections raised during this period before deciding what, if any, of the proposed restrictions should be implemented.

If you wish to object, it needs to be made in writing (email is acceptable) including the word object or objection (to distinguish it clearly from comments), it needs to give the reason for your objection should include your name and address. Objections to the scheme proposals should be sent to:

Or by email to: transportation@harrow.gov.uk  quoting ref DP2011-19 and making sure it is received by 15 February 2012.
