Uxbridge Road, Hatch End - highway improvements
Summary
Highway improvement works are now substantially complete on Uxbridge Road, Hatch End, following an extensive consultation with local residents and businesses.
The Transport for London funded scheme will make the busy road safer for pedestrians and drivers, while also providing extra parking spaces for blue badge holders and those using Hatch End station.
An exhibition was held at Harrow Arts Centre in January and Harrow Council wrote to more than 1,300 residents, giving them the chance to have their say on the proposals.
After listening to residents' comments, several changes were made to the original plans. They include keeping the pelican crossing near Grimsdyke Road instead of replacing it with a zebra crossing, and maintaining the current access to the nearby car park.
