Burnt Oak Broadway area parking controls and Park Way one-way street
What is this about?
Residents and businesses have told us that there are parking problems in the Burnt Oak Broadway area. Local people have complained about drivers from outside the area parking their cars all day, sometimes blocking drives and junctions. Some have said that it is difficult to find a parking space when visiting shops or going to a doctor's appointment.
In April 2009 the council consulted residents and businesses in an area between Bacon Lane and Stag Lane and between Burnt Oak Broadway and Broomgrove Gardens in the south east of Edgware Ward about a variety of parking issues.
Having considered all responses and comments to the above consultation, a revised set of proposals was taken to a further stage of consultation. The responses to that second consultation were reported to councillors on the Traffic and Road Safety Advisory Panel (TARSAP) on Thursday 16 September 2010.
The Panel recommended that objections to the proposals should be set aside and that works commence to implement the new parking restrictions. On the basis of the Panel's recommendations, officers were authorised to commence implementation works by Cllr Phil O'Dell, the Portfolio Holder for Environment and Community Safety, who is the senior councillor in charge of traffic and parking.
