Harrow's Joint Strategic Needs Assessment

Introduction to Harrow Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) - a story of success, complexity and diversity

The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) is a national government requirement.  It is placed upon local authorities and Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) to work in partnership with each other and with stakeholders in the local community.

The JSNA will provide a range of information that can be used as a tool to help identify the health, well-being needs and inequalities of a local population.

The JSNA is a strategic set of documents.  It contains a range of information for commissioners, planners and senior managers across statutory and partner organisations, to consider when looking at current and future service developments.

The JSNA information should help to ensure effective and targeted service provision across agencies.

The JSNA will be updated as new information becomes available. Revised Department of Health JSNA guidance is expected in late 2009 and we will work with partners to implement any requirements.
