Vaccinations

Vaccines work by stimulating our immune system to produce antibodies. Antibodies are substances that fight diseases. If a vaccinated person comes into contact with the disease, their immune system is able to fight it.

Childhood immunisations

Vaccination is important to protect against a range of serious and potentially fatal diseases. You can decide whether to have your child immunised. You must give consent before each vaccination is given.

Vaccinations are quick, safe and extremely effective. If a child isn't vaccinated, they will have an increased risk of catching the illness.
